JAZZ ON THE PLAZZ FAQ’S

1. Can I bring food and/or wine to the Plaza?
Please take note of the town's policy on alcohol in the Town Plaza: Town of Los Gatos Ordinance Sec. 19.10.025. "Picnickers may bring to a park, and drink, beer or wine with their picnic lunches, so long as they conduct themselves in an orderly manner.” Please do not carry your adult beverages into the surrounding street or sidewalks. In addition, there are numerous restaurants and deli’s in the surrounding blocks and many prepare Jazz on the Plazz ‘specials’ for either take-out or dining-in. Jazz on the Plazz itself does not sell any food or beverages.

2. How much does the concert cost?
Nada, zippo, nothing - FREE! Jazz on the Plazz relies solely on the generosity of our friends, supporters and sponsors. Many people make this concert series, our workshops, and other arts programs possible with a tax-deductable contribution each year to Los Gatos Music & Arts, the umbrella 501(c)(3) organization producers of Jazz on the Plazz.

3. Where is the best place to park?
There are several unlimited parking lots within two blocks of the Plaza: one on Montebello Way adjacent to the Post Office, one off of W. Main St. at Park Avenue, and one on the South side of the Post Office off of S. Santa Cruz. Please click the link below for a complete map of parking areas in Los Gatos. (Download PDF)

4. Is there a seating policy?
Please Note: The Town of Los Gatos Parks Department prohibits the placement of UNATTENDED tables, chairs or other items reserving spaces on the Town Plaza Park lawn PRIOR TO 3:00 PM on concert dates, to allow for full public access and use of the park during the earlier hours of the day.  Unattended items will be collected and placed in a designated area off the lawn per Town policy. For the 2009 summer season: due to local water restrictions, no blankets will be allowed on the lawn before or during the concerts. (Blankets trap heat which causes damage to the lawn areas.)  The following are prohibited by the Town of Los Gatos: Tents, umbrellas, grills, portable generators, items that disrupt the concert, reserving space by staking and/or cordoning with ropes, tape or any other material, hanging or posting anything on trees, plants or light posts.  Out of courtesy and respect for others, please do not place chairs or tables in areas which may obstruct the view of guests who sit on low chairs on the lawn in front of the stage.   Pedestrian walkways will be marked on the lawn area – please keep pathways clear.

5. Are there restrooms available?
Portable restrooms and hand washing facilities are available adjacent to the Post Office on the Montebello Way side.

6. Are there trash and/or recycling cans?
Portable Recycling & Trash receptacles are provided surrounding the Plaza for your convenience, however it is highly recommended that the public carry away any waste they produce and deposit it in their home recycling containers in an effort to minimize the burden on the Parks Department clean-up.

7. What about bringing my kids?
Children, accompanied by adults, are very welcome at Jazz on the Plazz. We ask that jazz artists be treated with honor and respect. Children should not play in front of the stage during the concert, as it tends to distract the artists and other guests who have come to enjoy the performance.

8. Are dogs allowed at the concerts?
Dogs, on leash, are welcome in the Town Plaza. Please bring ‘doggie bags’ for clean-up. There are also stations for your convenience in the Plaza containing ‘doggie bags’. They are located on posts at the center entrance on the S.Santa Cruz and Montebello sides of the Plaza..
