Andre Thierry Accordian Soul Music

GRAMMY-Nominated accordionist Andre Thierry is an international icon of Accordion Soul, rooted in his French Kreole heritage while integrating funk and R&B elements. Surrounded by Zydeco dance Kreole musical traditions at a young age. By the time he was twelve, he had formed his band Zydeco Magic. Thierry honed his craft by playing with the Zydeco musicians Louisiana offered to visit the East Bay in Northern California.

His 2004 release “Whole Lotta Somethin” brims with danceable melodies carried by the Accordion. Undoubtedly, Andre’s style isn’t conventional, creating magnetic, sonic landscapes on his 2012 release “Are You Ready To Learn” and pays tribute to the Blues on his 2015 release “Bouncin with the Blues,” playing and singing blues classics with his signature upbeat treatment. Thierry’s career extends well beyond the United States.

In 2016, he was the first Kreole American artist to perform at Germany’s Akkordeonale Festival. He collaborated with local artists and continued to tour the country. Featured in Michael Tisserand’s “The Kingdom of Zydeco,” Thierry is called “a standard-bearer for the new generation.” Andre Thierry’s music transcends borders, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in his vibrant Accordion Soul.

New singles, “Only Live Once” and “My Way,” are Accordion Soul music inspirations, raising the frequency. The artist’s rhythmic new mixes showcase his significant gift in creating music, reflecting in the music he composes. Stay tuned as this influential Kreole Accordion virtuoso, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist releases more new music in 2023.

Entertaining is the Wildcat Mountain Ramblers’ passion, and they thrive on performing and sharing Bluegrass, Old-time, Country, Western, Newgrass, Cajun, Rock, Blues, Cowboy, and Folk music. With five vocalists, the band offers you a rich variety of voicings from solos to four-part harmonies, equally varied instrumentation including banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass, Resophonic guitar (dobro) or even twin fiddles.

Led by Sonia Shell’s versatile banjo skills, Lee Anne Welch’s lively fiddling, and Kim Elking’s nuanced mandolin chords, the band showcases harmonized instrumental teamwork that is both precise and dynamic. Linda Maki’s songwriting prowess adds depth, with tunes like ‘Grabtown Gulch’ painting vivid portraits of California’s past. Lisa Burns, a renowned bassist, completes the ensemble with her award-winning talent and joyful spirit, making The Goat Hill Girls a must-see for anyone seeking a blend of tradition, innovation, and sheer musical delight.

The California Blue Runners is a musical group made up of musicians that specialize in Zydeco and Cajun music from southern Louisiana. Andrew Carriere, a French-speaking musician hailing from Lawtell, Louisiana, embodies a rich family heritage in his music, with roots tracing back to legendary figures like his father, “Bebe” Carriere, a renowned Creole fiddler, and his uncle, accordionist Eraste Carriere. Carriere, now based in the Bay Area since the 1960s, honed his accordion skills under the tutelage of the late Danny Poullard and is celebrated as the lead vocalist of the California Cajun Orchestra’s “Not Lonesome Anymore” CD. He leads the band “Andrew Carriere and the All Stars,” earning acclaim as a highly sought-after singer and accordion player within the vibrant Cajun music scene.
